Oxford West & Abingdon Conservatives Parliamentary candidate James Fredrickson has met Jessie Norman, Minister of State for Transport and welcomed the Minister’s commitment to setting out multiple route options in a public consultation on the Oxford - Cambridge Expressway expected next year.
“Speaking after the meeting James said “Whilst talking through the timeline for consultation, I stressed that the public are yet to have a say on any of this – and that there should be a consultation on not just the final detail of a single route, but also multiple routes within the proposed corridor. I am delighted that he agreed with this completely, stressing that the Government was in listening mode and would run a consultation where multiple options would be presented for public feedback”
A route corridor has been chosen and Highways England are currently considering route options within that corridor. There is a long list of around 100 routes which will be narrowed down to a short list of under 10 for public consultation in late 2019.
