Reviving our town centres and high streets

In 2011 free two-hour town centre car parking was introduced in large parts of this constituency by the Conservative administration at the Vale of White Horse Council, which along with grants provided by central government, have helped to reverse declining footfall in Abingdon.

Yet the Liberal Democrats are now reviewing this policy and threatening to use town centre parking as an income stream. James will continue to pressure the Council to keep this vital policy and will challenge other councils within the constituency to do the same. He is also ensuring that local businesses know about various business rate relief schemes introduced by this Government, to help revive our high streets and town centres and support trading local.
